CSMB, ST-LAURENT

The management of ST-LAURENT high school, Pavillon St-Germain and Pavillon Émile Legault of the Commission scolaire Marguerite Bourgeoys (CSMB) welcomes the Aeronautics Training Program. We would like to thank Ms. Diane Lamarche-Venne, President of the CSMB and the Executive Committee, for opening the door to this unique Program in North America.

St-Laurent High School has over 2,000 students. The school is located in an area with the highest concentration of immigrants in Montreal. The families of the school’s students come from over 120 different countries!

The Saint-Laurent borough is one of the main industrial hubs in Quebec.

Technoparc Montreal located on the territory, is considered the largest technological park in Canada, dedicated to the development of advanced technology in four main sectors: aeronautics, life sciences, information technologies and communications, as well as clean technologies. Building a competent succession for this industry is part of the mission of Développement Économique St-Laurent.

The Aviation Connection team appreciates the support of the school principal in setting up an AEROLAB in one of the premises of the St-Germain pavilion. This is where the weekly AERO 1 courses are held. The 8 flight simulators accommodate up to 16 students at a time. 2-5 sessions per week depending on number of students registered. Courses are provided by Aviation Connection instructors during the entire school year.

The AERO 2 component: Engineering, construction of remote-controlled cargo planes for competition, is held at the Émile Legault pavilion in the school’s workshop and technology laboratory.

The AERO 3 component: Artificial Intelligence and drones, is held in the 2 pavilions. 15 drones at the St-Germain pavilion and 15 drones at the Émile Legault pavilion, 2 students per drone.
